It is ironic, if not tragic, that as the debate rages over Ebonics, multitudes of African American children are being deprived of quality education because of low performing schools. And, as the growing prison-jail industrial complex gathers the bitter harvest of failed schools from urban inner city wastelands, there are now more black men in prison than in colleges and universities. For millions of African American youth and their parents education has lost the promise that was so dear to our forebears. :-) Hi Tiana this is a great post. As nubaka said we need all the help we can get. So keep those great info coming.

Ms. Bethune was a pioneer for education. There are schools named after her, a real inspiration.
