The Ethiopian calendar was coptic. And it goes back 5500 yrs. The Egyptian solar calendar is by far the oldest. It is said Imhotep had a great influence on the construction of the calendar. Lol so you know that can't be topped on any level. www.exodus2006.com/cal.htm

Welcome to Kemra Sandman.
This is what our elders use to tell us, the events of Our past. and the Importance of "Never Forgetting Our History".
That one thing, that was so dear, was something that we could hold on to. Dispite all attempts to strip us and erase our past.
A History of a people is the Foundation of which they are breaded. A beginnings, a starting point in other words. Roots of the tree that flourish with branches that link and connect.
This is the one element missing out of African Americans lives. This is Essential to us to enable us to evolve to the highest level that we can achieve.
Please feel to check out other topics and share your openions and insights with this forum.
Thanx for stopping by. :-)

There is nothing better for black people than our own historical experiences when we want to understand what is going on in the world. I am convinced that black people are the most humane people on the face of the earth. We reconcile and forgive more easily than any people I know. I believe that this is because we have a great love for humanity and an appreciation for the ordinariness of all of us under heaven. Yet we are also rather complicated when it comes to our relationship with our own pain, suffering, and death. What I propose is that we re-consider how we view history. Interrogate each story and every incident from the standpoint of our own humanity and you will see in a new light the realities of the world. It has made a big difference in how I approach what is going on in politics, culture, science, and art. Of course, we must never underestimate the power of the media to distort our images of ourselves and the power of the media to promote the images of others. Why are the Greeks considered the fathers of philosophy? Let's examine history a little closer. Yes my family is a tight family, and at reunions we reminese with our older family members about the Civil Rights movement. It was much different back then. Thx for this useful post
